SenryuGW2014Hosted by the California Riverside Ballet, the 23rd Annual Ghost Walk is a street fair of costumes, candy, live performances, and ghost story tours of the historically-rich Downtown Riverside, all decorated in the ghoulish theme of Halloween. This event is aimed at entertaining guests of all ages, so bring your friends and family! Senryu Taiko will be the opening act on both nights, October 24th and 25th, at 6:00pm! Anime Expo 2014

Senryu Taiko will once again be performing at Anime Expo! We are scheduled to perform on Thursday, July 3rd at 11:40 a.m. during the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, located in front of the main Exhibit hall. We will also be holding a workshop from 2:30-4:30 p.m., located in West Hall room 515B, where you can learn how to play taiko!

Anime Expo (AX) was founded in 1992 by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), and is the second longest running anime convention. Several large events will take place including the Masquerade, the Anime Music Video Contest, Concerts, AXDance, and the AX Fashion Show. Anime Expo is a 24-hour convention that offers late-night dances, all-night video programming, tabletop gaming rooms, and open-mic Karaoke in the late evening and early morning hours. Also, many guests attending the convention engage in cosplay (dressing up as their favorite fictional characters), making for a very unique experience.

The Expo will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from Thursday, July 3rd through Sunday, July 6th.

20th Annual Intercollegiate Taiko Invitational

May 24-25, 2014.  This year we would like to thank Jishin Taiko from Cal State University Northridge for hosting the 20th Annual Intercollegiate Taiko Invitational!  This tradition expands our knowledge among new and old friends in a taiko filled weekend!

“The invitational is an important event in the collegiate taiko world, for it brings us all together as one community.  It transcends individual schools and individual groups into one conglomerate of ‘taiko’.”

“Each group in this melting pot of taiko groups brings with it their own individual flavor and style of taiko that pushes at the edges of what taiko can be.”

“Invitationals brings us together to grow this art form in ways no one can have imagined it, and it also roots us in our history and where we have come from; Our eyes look back upon the shoulders of those that we stand on.  The benefit of the Invitational cannot be quantified; you can only see it through the fellowship and joy that it brings.”
