New song!

Senryu is proud to present a new song for this year’s Spring Concert, Benzaiten by Ashton Culbertson!

Benzaiten, one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, is the Japanese Buddhist goddess of “everything that flows.” Along with good fortune she brings luck, persuasion, and seduction. She is often depicted riding a dragon with snakes as her messengers. Previously untitled, the piece was given the name Benzaiten because of its use of fluid motion and subtle imitations of snakes.

Come out to our Spring Concert on May 14 to experience the debut of this song! Tickets are available at the Fine Arts Box Office located at the University Theater at UCR.
Students – $8
General – $10
At the Door – $12
Doors will open at 5:30pm and the show starts at 6:00pm

Ashton is a 3rd year Music Composition Major here at UCR. You can check out his music on his YouTube channel, which features pieces such as his self-released album Midium and all of the background music made from last year’s Spring Concert! Currently he is working on a piece for UCR is Composing, which will be held on May 18, 1:00pm at ARTS 166.
